dog breed rescue group identification tags

Rescue groups are popping up all over now. The economy, high cost of vet bills, home foreclosures and mainly a large number of irresponsible pet owners who didn't do research into their breed of choice are causing dogs (cats too) to be placed in new homes. Certain breeds require a large amount of grooming, some have genetic health or behavioral issues, but some people are not taking care of their pets for their entire lifetime--hence the term Disposable Pet Syndrone. This is a tag that I was just been given by Kimberly Yellowpurse. It has its own serial number and telehone number on it. Tags are given out to fosters who keep the pet for short or long term care. The tag protects these fosters temporarily. Many foster parents decide to keep their pets because they bond with them. It is mostly women who foster dogs and it was women who first started the Humane Movement. More an more fosters are needed as open door shelters and pounds become full and overwhelmed..... The pet overpopulation crises is a real indicator of our SOCIAL ILLS..........The American land of the free, doesn't apply to mans best friend. From the high intake rates at shelters all across America, it appears that we have abandoned the animals we domesticated years ago to serve our species. Please Adopt your next pet!
