Notice the word LINKS was used to refer to S-Hooks which are one method of attaching dog tags to collars. The company sold 25 tags lettered and numbered consecutively for $2, 100 tags for just $3.50 and only $20 for a lot of 1000. Links attached added another $1 for 100 or $7 for 1000. Of course this was before modern electronics were used to order supplies, so customers were just asked to send a sketch showing arrangement of reading matter to be imprinted on each tag. Tags were available in brass or aluminum. Both were the same price. There was an optional black enamel filling added to tags and this increased the price by 50% of what was listed. Notice the mock tags used in this catalog depict actual Illinois towns on them, but the entire photographs of tags were not all from Illinois. Books and catalogs such as this are often seen on eBay. This one had a bright orange cover. One unique item that The Time and Energy Company of Chicago, Illinois sold was FLAVOR STAMPS, rotary, rubber stamp used to mark buckets of ice cream. Some interesting flavors were: Honeymoon Special, Mello Dew, White House, Fruit Salad and Custard. I don't recall these flavors of ice cream, but I do remember rubber stamps as they were used in the 60's and 70's It was fun taking a trip down memory lane |
